| Grupa Zywiec was founded in 1852 by the Habsburg family in Żywiec. It was nationalised after World War II. After the fall of the Iron Curtain the brewery was acquired by Heineken International in the mid-1990s. Today the brewery is perhaps the biggest inside of Poland as well as outside the country. The Zywiec Jasne Pelne is exported to a number of countries in Europe. |
