| The birth of Sociedad Central de Cervejas was in 1934 as a result of a fusion between a number of breweries. Sagres was introduced to the market in 1940. Three years later the export began, mainly to former Portuguese colonies like Angola, Cape Verde, Macau etc. Since then the brewery has grown bigger and bigger, and it is today the biggest and most popular brewery in Portugal. |
