| Meta Beer is brewed on water from a big reserve of soft spring water, which the locals know as holy water of St. Abo. The brewery started back in 1963 by the Ethiopian government, but a privatization is now in progress. There are a few other breweries in Ethiopia, and typically they only produce one local brand. St. George, Bati, and Harar are local beers from some of the other breweries. |
