| Balashi Brewery was founded in 1996 by one of Aruba’s largest companies, MetaCorp. The brewery is the only one on the Carribean island, and the Balashi brand is the only one produced. After a little contest amongst the local people the name Balashi came out. The name originated from the words Bala Bala and Balana. These words are from the Aruac (Indian) language Taino and it means "near the sea". My thanks to Carlos Alberto Avelino for trading this beer. |
